My intention today is to feel what others feel.
Galations 6:2
Share each other’s burdens, and in this way obey the law of Christ.
I want to be aware. I want to look at those who speak with me and understand where they are on their journey.
So many are in pain or distress. Do we really see that? Can we tell when something is really “up” with someone?
That’s the challenge.
I was asked yesterday if I was feeling OK. Nice that someone cared and came forward to ask. I was fine. However, the way I looked did not portray that.
I was dressed nicely, wore my favourite beret, and for something different, put some colour on my lips. The combination of that colour and the pale skin of someone who lives in Ontario through the winter made my face look pale and not so well. (This picture was taken Oct 2011)
Was there more going on than just the contrast in colour? Possibly, but not anything that this gentleman could have helped with. His kindness and caring was a welcome boost in my day.
Do you have days like that? Who helps lift you up? (we talked about that last week)
For today I will look outside of myself, beyond my own turmoil and see what lies in the lives of others.
Empathy lays a whole world before you, full of uplifting feelings for all of us………..
